**Cough**Cough**Sneeze**Sneeze**

Yup, that's me you hear hacking up a lung and sneezing it up....LOL! I started coming down with this "bug" Wednesday afternoon and I'm not sure if it's getting better or worse, it all depends on the moment because one moment I feel "OK", the next I feel like crud! I know it's nothing more than sinus because it's all in my face and when I blow my nose my eye fills up with air which means my sinus cavity is packed.

I'm playing doctor and taking some antibiotics that I had left over and then I'm taking Claritin D. But like I said, one minute I'm fine, the next I'm not.

Hubby, on the other hand, is even sicker than I am. We finally had to take him to the ER because he couldn't see the doctor today. He has a full blown case of Bronchitis and is on some heavy duty cough meds and antibiotics. His problem is he can't stop coughing, but it's not a "productive" cough, it's a dry one. So, he is miserable, to say the least. Hopefully the new meds will help him. We also have to keep the heat down or he really gets to coughing, which means we're all walking around here bundled up while he's got the heat down and fans going...LOL. It's this dang weather change, it does it to us every time. Wednesday it was 73 degrees and when we woke up Thursday morning the temp was below freezing. But, that's Ohio for you, don't like the weather, wait an hour.

A quiet morning in my quiet space

It's a beautiful morning here in NW Ohio! Yesterday we had a high temperature of 73, over night it barely went below 60 and this morning I already have windows open. The sun is just starting to make it so that I can see things outside, but barely, and the birds are singing away! I am so ready for the weather to be like this daily! But today is the end for a while, cold weather is heading back in and by this weekend it will be back down into the 30's :-(

As usual, when the weather changes I get sick, and I can feel one heck of a cold coming on. I've got that thick feeling in my head and a scratchy achy feeling in my throat. I worry that this year will be as bad as last year or 2 years prior to that, when I ended up getting pneumonia, but I'm going to do my best to keep that from happening!

Not much going on today, I've got some laundry to catch up on as well as a few things around the house that will keep me busy. But I wanted to make sure I stopped in here and said hello! Hope your day goes well!

My quiet little place

SHHHHHH, don't tell anyone, but I'm in my "office"....LOL! As you may or may not know, I'm getting ready to go back to school in just a few weeks. One of my biggest concerns was that when I needed to study for school things would be too hectic for me to be able to actually concentrate and do the work I needed to do.

So I came up with the idea of taking our extra "bedroom" and cleaning it out and setting up a desk and computer in it. The only problem was that what was stored in this room were our clothes because we don't have very much closet space in this house. That actually turned out to be much easier than I thought it would be because I cleaned out the closets in the kids' rooms and was able to put all of their clothes away once that was done. The only thing that was left was mine and hubby's clothes which would end up having to partially stay in the room because we do not have a closet in our room.

Having gotten that done and setting up a make shift desk, on Friday evening we ran the DSL up here and moved the hubby's laptop up here. It was ok, it did give me computer/internet access, but I'm not a huge fan of laptops and hubby's leaves MUCH to be desired as far as it's ability to load pages and programs. So yesterday I decided that I was going to make the step and move my computer upstairs. I like it up here, it's quiet and gives me the ability to focus on what I'm doing. But I don't like that I kind of feel disconnected from the rest of the house and the family.

How long I'll keep my computer up here we'll see, but for now I'm in my own quiet space. So SHHHHHHHH, don't tell anyone, I'm really enjoying the peace and quiet!

YAY, I have a day to myself

The kids went to school, ON TIME, I have no appointments and hubby is at work, so today is MY day! No, I'm not going to sit around eating bonbon's and watching Soap Operas....LOL! I actually have a few "projects" I'd like to work on. I work better when I'm home alone vs. when the kids or hubby are here!

It's supposed to be fairly decent again today, near or right at 40....WHOOHOO! At one point at the beginning of the week they were forecasting it to be 47 this coming Sunday, but now they're saying 40. I tell you, if it would have came close to being 47 degrees on Sunday, I'd have had to have opened a window, just an inch ;-)

So, I guess that's it for now, hope your day goes well!

SPAM mail cracks me up!!

I tell you, going to my junk folder in gmail lately is a complete and total RIOT! If it's not an email titled "Be a hero for her in bed" it's one titled "Increase your p*n*s size". OK, for anyone who happens to read here and is sending me SPAM mail, I'm NOT a guy, I don't want to be a hero to HER, and I really don't want to make MY p*n*s bigger!! ROTFLMAO The only thing I can say is that the people that send that stuff out must have way too much time on their hands! How about you, what are some of your funniest SPAM mails called?

Hello, could you please help me

OK, I try not to talk about my "problems" here, but I'm having one lately that's really starting to take it's toll on me.

Does anyone know how to tell my brain that it's time for bed and it needs to get out of hyper mode? I'm serious man, this is getting to the point that it's getting ridiculous! For over a week now I have not been able to go to sleep at a decent hour. By decent, I mean prior to midnight. It used to be that I could get comfy, roll over and fall asleep fairly quickly. But lately, even if I take something that is "supposed" to help me sleep, I still can't sleep. It's as if my brain won't slow down.

The worst part about it is that hubby is a bad snorer, so if I don't fall asleep quickly, it's very difficult for me to fall asleep after he does. It's not that I'm not tired, because I am, I'm sitting here yawning now. But as soon as I lay down, it's like my eyes are glued open or something.

I know that I should probably go see a doctor, because it is really starting to get out of hand, but man I hate going to the doctor!

Anyway, I guess I'll drink my water and give it another try. Hopefully it will work this time!

Call out to everyone who reads here

Ok everyone, I REALLY need your help with something! Since my chances of actually winning one of the HP photo packs from PayPerPost is slim to none I've decided that within the next month I'm going to purchase a digital camera. The sad fact is that I know almost nothing about digital cameras other than knowing that more megapixels is better....LOL!

So, my question to you is what can you tell me about digital cameras and is there a digital camera you recommend or one(s) that you suggest I totally avoid? The majority of the pictures I take are family/kid oriented. I would like one that has a decent amount of zoom capability, can take still pictures as well as movies, a preview screen is a MUST and I would really like something that I'm not going to have to replace in a year. I've looked at a few that I really like such as the Olympus SP-510, the Kodak EasyShare Z650 and the Nikon Coolpix P1. But I'm just not sure as to what is going to be the best buy for the money.

So, I'm really hoping to get some info from people who have some knowledge about digital cameras! If you can help in any way, I would REALLY appreciate it! Thanks so much!

Hello, just your general post this morning. Nothing major going on and it looks to be a fairly decent day! The temp is currently 34 and I think it's supposed to get into the low to mid 40's today with sunshine.

I wanted to take a moment to remind you about my other blog JustSimplyHolly. I'm going to be moving over there soon, so that I don't have to keep bothering you with my paid posts.

OK, I guess that's all for now, see ya over at my other blog!

Word of the day

OK, I've decided that I'm going to try something new here. I've been chatting with my friend Lisa and have told her a few things that have gone on today, and I've managed to say the word horrible several times.

YAY!! I finally got a day off

Now don't get me wrong, I really don't mind working as much as I have been, especially this time of year because it will really come in handy! But I've not worked a ton of days straight in quite a while now, and I'm just not used to it. I'm tired and very worn out!

Last night I thought I was going to have to work again today. I got a call yesterday after I left that my shop manager jumped off the back of a truck and broke his ankle and that I should plan on working today. Then last night, about 9, my boss called and said that it wouldn't be necessary for me to work today, which made my night!

I actually got to sleep in until 6 this morning...WHOOOHOOO!! I kept my daughter home from school today, not because she was sick, but because she and I had some shopping to do by Sunday and I "thought" she was going to be leaving tonight for the weekend. But then my sister called today and announced that my niece is grounded so my daughter isn't going to be going away for the weekend after all, because she was supposed to be going with my niece to her fathers for the weekend. UGH...sure wish people would make up their minds...LOL

So she and I hit the road about 10 to find her a dress or outfit for her Christmas concert on Sunday. We went to several stores and were starting to get very frustrated and decided to check out a store called Plato's Closet. I tell you, I am very impressed! It's a consignment for "teen" clothes, but fortunately for us they went down to "00" sizes and we found the perfect outfit. It's not as Holiday looking as I'd hoped for, but she looks AWESOME! She found a cute brown pinstipe mini skirt and a pink top that matches the stripes in the skirt. I got her a pair of "heels" at the shoe store and some nylons. I tell you, she definitely isn't a little girl anymore! I also snagged up a couple of REALLY nice pairs of jeans for her for $10 a pair. (Have I told you how THRILLED I am that she no longer is wearing uniforms to school?? LOL)

My day is definitely going better than hubby's is! He's out doing apartment inspections today for the company he works for. They go through and change the furnace filters and batteries in the smoke detectors, then just make sure the furnace is working ok and there's nothing major wrong in the apartments. In the 2nd building he went into today he was knocking on an apartment door and no one was answering so he used his pass key to open the door and the resident was sitting in the living room sleeping. The guy upstairs came down and said "Oh, that's so and so, I know him" so my hubby asked the neighbor to go in and wake the guy up so they could do the inspection. Poor guy, apparently while he was sitting in his chair watching tv last night he passed away. It really shook my hubby up! I personally would have lost it, but that's just me.

Anyway, that's what's going on today. Hope your day is going well!

I think it's going to be one of "those" days

First, I couldn't wake up. I'm normally up about 5:00 a.m. but this morning I just couldn't wake up for anything and finally rolled out of bed about 5:45, even then I really wasn't awake.

I got my coffee and sat down here to find that something must have "hijacked" my computer because my desktop was the default XP wallpaper, and NONE of my stuff was there anymore, so I restored it back 2 days and that fixed the "problem" then I ran my anti spy and anti virus. So far so good, everything seems to be as it was when I shut it down last night.

The kids got up relatively good this morning, the only argument was when my son snatched the remote for the TV from my daughter, which is good for the two of them, normally mornings with them are a nightmare lately.

I was reading emails when I heard this noise then a crash from the kitchen. I turned and looked out and my best mixing bowl fell off the top of the freezer onto the floor and shattered into a bazillion pieces. Why it was on top of the freezer and not in the cabinet I have NO idea and at this point I'm not even sure I want to know...LOL. So now I have to replace it, which stinks!

The kids are gone to school and hubby is gone to work and I'm sitting here drinking coffee. I feel like crud! I'm totally exhausted, I have a headache and my neck and shoulders ache. I'd LOVE to stay home today, but just can't. I got word that they're starting the paperwork on my Jimmy, so I'm putting every last penny I can away so that I have the money for it when they call and say it's ready to be picked up.

I don't think I said anything about it here, so here's the story about my Jimmy. We have a neighbor that owns a towing company and back in October he towed a 1994 GMC Jimmy. The owner never called to claim it or anything, so after 30 days he called my hubby and asked if it would be anything we were interested in. Hubby went and looked at it and told our neighbor "HECK YEAH"! It's a 1994 Jimmy with about 125,000 miles on it, it's 4 door 4 wheel drive, leather interior and a towing package. He's going to give us a good deal on it, which is very nice of him! Last week they finally had keys made for it and started it up and I guess it runs awesome, which was the one hold back we all had on it. He wouldn't sell it to us if it didn't run or had major motor problems.

So, that's the story of my truck. We have to wait on paper work, but it's looking like I'll have it in mid to late January, which is fine! I'm excited! I've driven my little Honda station wagon for 4 years now...LOL. OH, and speaking of cars, hubby sold his Ford Ranger the other day and bought himself a Ford Explorer. I must admit he looks more "natural" in it than he ever did in his Ranger...LOL.

OK, going to get moving here. Have a great day!

Is it Friday yet?

I tell you, if Friday doesn't get here soon, I'm not sure I'll make it til then...LOL. Actually, make that Monday, because this coming weekend is going to be VERY busy! I have yet to have a day off this week, which is rare considering I "normally" work no more than 3 days a week right now. But my shop manager has been very sick and has only worked one day. He's supposedly coming in tomorrow, but I still have to go in because I have some billings that I faxed out today that I need to follow up on and I'm expecting a parts delivery tomorrow.

On top of that I seem to be at the beginning stages of a cold, and I'm quite ornery, which doesn't make things very pleasant. I should be in bed rather than sitting here...LOL.

This weekend my daughter has basketball Saturday from 9 to noon and then on Sunday both kids have their school Christmas concerts. My daughters concert is at 2, then after hers they are going to have hot dogs and chili, then my sons concert is at 4. So that will make for a LOOOOOOONG day! Thankfully my Bengals are playing Monday night this week, so I won't miss them playing Sunday while I'm at these concerts. Heck, I may have had to pass on the concerts if they were playing ;-) JUST KIDDING!!!

Then Monday is the day of the year that is most difficult for me, I already feel myself getting depressed about it, but I'm trying my hardest not to by keeping busy, which is why I really don't mind working as much as I am this week!

So, that's what's going on with me in a nutshell. I really need to wrap things up and get ready for bed. Thanks to everyone that's been leaving me messages and comments, I enjoy reading them!

I just don't understand sometimes

In this day and age, whether we like it or not, we have to respect that each person is allowed to have their own beliefs, whether they are religious, political or anything else. It's simply the way things are and it's one of the things that I like most about living in the USA! I have the right to believe how I want to, you have the right to believe how you want to and the government doesn't tell us otherwise, at least not yet anyway ;-)

But this story bothers me! Why did all of the trees have to be taken down? What was so wrong about the Rabbi wanting the airport to put up a menorah? Why not set up a multi cultural holiday display rather than pull everything down? In my opinion, it makes the airport seem very prejudiced against people who celebrate holidays other than Christmas.

The Rabbi put his request in a few weeks ago, which would have given the airport time to put up displays for other cultures. I do however feel that filing a lawsuit is a bit ridiculous and a waste of court time. Maybe the Rabbi could have requested that next year they consider adding a multi cultural display rather than just a Christmas display? But the airports reaction is nothing more than taking the easy way out:
"The holidays are the busiest season at the airport, Betancourt said, and staff didn't have time to play cultural anthropologists."

**SIGH** I just wish we all could learn to get along and accept each other a little better. I know that I personally spent MANY years fighting everyone and everything around me, which made me a miserable and lonely person. This time of year, more than any other time, brings out the acceptance in me. I look at people and feel compassion and care. I stop and let someone out of the parking lot ahead of me, I hold the door for someone as they're walking in or out of a store, and above all, I try to smile as much as possible.

Anyway, I need to get ready for work. Have a great day!

LOOOOOOONG night!

And not even the one I planned either...LOL. But then again, does anything go as we plan it to?

The "plan" for tonight was to watch my 2 niece's for a couple of hours while my sister went to a meeting. But about 30 minutes before she was due to be here she called saying she wasn't going to be able to go to the meeting as planned, so she wouldn't be done, thus I didn't end up watching my niece's this evening.

So, I "thought" it would be a quiet night with the family. That was, until the phone rang again within moments of hanging up from my sister.

A neighbor wanted to know if I could watch her 6 year old while she "ran into town". Let me explain though, it was the 6 year old that called asking if she could come down here while mommy ran into town. I said sure, no problem, cuz she's a good kid and I like having her here!

Fast forward THREE hours.....she's STILL here. Now, it's not that I mind, because she is a great kid! But it seems to me that someone could have at least called. Well, come to find out, mom wasn't making a trip into town, she was going into town to go the kids' school for parent teacher conferences. Still, it's ok, cuz she is a good kid, but it would have been better if mom would have gotten on the phone from the get go to let me know it was more than a quick trip into town...LOL. No hard feelings though!

So, one more post tonight, then it's off to bed. Sweet dreams!

13 Hours

Thirteen hours of sleep is VERY nice...LOL!! For anyone that knows me personally or has read my blog, you know that I used to clean apartments after people moved out of them, but that it died off this past spring, so I went to work in my boss' commercial lawn equipment shop. On Monday I got a call from the lady I used to clean for asking me to come back. Although I wasn't too thrilled about it, the prices were better than the last place she worked at, so I talked it over with my boss and we decided it would be worth trying again.

The first few apartments were a breeze, nothing majorly wrong with the apartments, other than the "normal" stuff, namely gooked up kitchen cabinets. I managed to get 3 apartments done on Tuesday, then one on Wednesday because the kids had a school delay, so I could only work 4 hours. I went in Thursday morning and the apartment that I walked into to clean was the exact reason why I was apprehensive about going back to cleaning!

The bathrooms in these apartments I'm cleaning now are a bit outdated with old porcelain tubs and 1 inch by 2 inch tiled floors which I have to strip and wax. The tub in this apartment had a 4 inch "ring" of thick black mold all the way around the tub, it was DISGUSTING! My back was already hurting a bit before I started cleaning this tub and I pushed myself too far when cleaning it. It took me almost 2 hours to clean the tub, and I didn't take any breaks while doing that, so when I was finished and went to get up from being on my knees and bent at the waist for 2 hours, the pain almost took my breath away and I almost ended up calling hubby to come and help me get up...LOL.

When I did finally make it to my feet I called hubby and talked to him and he agreed that I needed to stop for the day. So I went to the office and talked to the lady I clean for and explained to her what was going on and she agreed with hubby. So I came home and hit the couch with my heating pad until it was time to go get the kids. When I got back from getting the kids I took some strong meds which ended up knocking my butt out COLD and let me sleep for 13 hours....LOL.

I'm still in a significant amount of pain this morning, not sure yet whether I'm going to go in to work or not. But 13 hours of sleep sure was nice!
