The one thing that never ceases to amaze me is how stupid people drive when snow first hits our area for the season! It's like their brains have completely forgot how to drive from the previous winter. Granted, there are people around here who are driving in these type of conditions for the first time, possibly because they are a newly licensed driver or because they relocated to this area from somewhere that never received snow, so they can be excused. But one can only hope that they called around and got auto insurance quotes and were able to pick up some decent coverage on their cars! Because trust me, the first year you drive in snowy/icy conditions, you WILL have an accident. Hopefully it's just a minor fender bender, but be prepared because it will happen!
But for people who have lived in this area their entire lives, who have driven in snowy, icy weather for many years, there is no excuse! While we were driving home from town tonight there was someone that turned in front of us from a side street, and their car was all over the road sliding. It's a good thing there was no traffic in either lane or they'd have caused one heck of an accident! People, take the time to slow down and think when the roads are like this! It's not worth risking your life OR an innocent life, especially if it's mine or one of my friends or loved ones! I've lost enough people close to me already this year, I honestly don't want to lose any more please!
