Hello, could you please help me

OK, I try not to talk about my "problems" here, but I'm having one lately that's really starting to take it's toll on me.

Does anyone know how to tell my brain that it's time for bed and it needs to get out of hyper mode? I'm serious man, this is getting to the point that it's getting ridiculous! For over a week now I have not been able to go to sleep at a decent hour. By decent, I mean prior to midnight. It used to be that I could get comfy, roll over and fall asleep fairly quickly. But lately, even if I take something that is "supposed" to help me sleep, I still can't sleep. It's as if my brain won't slow down.

The worst part about it is that hubby is a bad snorer, so if I don't fall asleep quickly, it's very difficult for me to fall asleep after he does. It's not that I'm not tired, because I am, I'm sitting here yawning now. But as soon as I lay down, it's like my eyes are glued open or something.

I know that I should probably go see a doctor, because it is really starting to get out of hand, but man I hate going to the doctor!

Anyway, I guess I'll drink my water and give it another try. Hopefully it will work this time!

Not being able to sleep really stinks. And having to beat your man at getting some zzzzz's so you don't hear snoring, puts pressure on you.

I use a meditation trick when I can't sleep. You pick a word and say it over and over and over in your head until it makes no sense anymore.

The idea is your mind blanks out and you relax.

It takes practice to do because when you try it, your mind will wander so you end up having to start over.

If you stick with it, it will work.

Thanks sneaky, I've been trying your suggestion, but like you said, it is hard and your mind does wander. I'm now getting these WEIRD leg spasms, I'll be on the brink of sleep and my legs literally jump....it's just driving me NUTS! And yes, I am finally throwing in the towel and putting a call in to the doctor tomorrow!
