More snow coming tonight

We've had a crazy weather kind of week. One day it's sunny and decent, the next day it starts raining and the rain eventually turns to snow. Last Saturday, the 15th, we got our first snow fall of the season. While it only amounted to a little more than an inch, it did stick for a little while. Here's one of the pictures that I took of it.

It really was pretty, but apparently the road crews didn't think it would end up being what it was because there was no prep done on the roads before it came and there was nothing done after it fell. It wasn't until the next morning that I realized just how bad it was. Granted, it wasn't much more than an inch of snow, but with the ground and roads being as warm as they were, it melted. But after dark it got cold enough that the melting snow froze and the roads were a solid sheet of black ice. Not just in spots either, every inch of every road I drove to work was that way. I was honestly freaking out!

Anyway, we have more of the same kind of snow coming tonight. It's supposed to start out as a light rain, then turn to snow, and the overnight temps are going to be in the upper 20's, which means this stuff is going to freeze just like it did the other night. Let's hope they're wrong!
