Physically, Mentally & Emotionally....

EXHAUSTED!!! Oh my goodness, I don't think I've EVER felt this way before, although I'm sure I have!
Please don't get me wrong, I am 100% GRATEFUL to be back to work, it couldn't have came at a better time! But this apartment we've been working on this week has completely drained me! Let me tell you, I have seen how filthly people live and I pray to God that I NEVER leave an apartment, hourse or anywhere I live the way this one was left. I've realized that it is a MUST for me to put my digicam in my purse so that I can start taking before and after pictures!
Where to start?? Well, first I'll say that the people that moved out of this apartment lived there for 5 years. In that time, I do not think they EVER cleaned the stove or oven. The "rings" of thick gooey grease around the burner holes connected and made the entire cooktop of the stove look as if it were the color of ear wax *BARF, GAG, PUKE*. And you know how you lift the cooktop and clean under it, you don't EVEN want me to begin to describe what that looked like! Then there's the inside of the oven. Now mind you, this is a farily new oven, and it does have "self clean". But I guess pushing that freaking button was just too difficult for whoever lived there because I ended up having to take a razor to the bottom of the oven because not even a brillo pad would get the baked on mess off. Cleaning the oven/stove alone took five HOURS! But let me tell you, other than the black shiny surface behind the knobs, that thing darned near looks brand new!!!!
Anyway, 2 days and 17 hours later, we have about one hours worth of work in the morning and we're DONE!! But I simply don't understand how people can live in this kind of FILTH! I will never claim to be a good housekeeper, I'm prone to leave dirty dishes in the sink longer than actually necessary and I HATE dusting, BUT, my house is not filthy! And I've always taken extra time when I've moved out of somewhere to make sure it is clean enough for the next person to move into, that's simply common courtesy! Apparently the people that moved out of this apartment weren't the courteous type...LOL.
Anyway, I hope I haven't totally grossed you out! It's now 9 p.m. my sister called in the middle of writing this and we talked on the phone for 40 minutes, which is VERY rare for us...LOL.
I need to get to bed, thanks for listening!

Ugh, that is why I don't watch that "How clean is your house" show. I am glad you had a handle on things!

yea that's how our house was when we moved in. I'm with you on the whole housework thing with the dishes and the dusting, but I would never let it get nasty. That's unsanitary and uncool. And we always made sure we clean our apts spotless when we left (so as to get as much of the security dep as possible back lol it's a hell of a incentive)
