OK, now that I have that out of my way....LOL, HELLO EVERYONE!! **WAVES** Yes, I'm still alive! It's just that the past 8 days have been totally insane!! I started back to work last Friday, and although I'm THRILLED to be back to work, it has left my physically, mentally and emotionally drained every night! I'm having some problems with the girl that works for me. She's a great "kid" but just does not have life experience with cleaning. Rather than do the job "correctly" she takes short cuts to simply get it done. In some ways, I feel like I'm being nit picky with her, but she simply isn't listening to me anymore.
For instance, she discovered that if you use "The Works" toilet bowl cleaner on the tub surround, rather than scrub it, you can simply rinse the soap scum away. And yes, I agree, this is a quicker solution to the soap scum, but this isn't what they want us to do. I've explained to her that I really need her to use the cleaner that we're supposed to use on the tub surround, and reserve using The Works for those areas that simply won't come clean, but only as a last resort, but every day I see her continuing to "slather" the surround walls with The Works.
I'm just not a "ballsy" type of person. It's hard for me to get my point across sometimes, and I usually end up just getting ticked off and blowing up. It took ALOT of intestinal fortitude for me to even talk to her today about things that the building owner talked to me about yesterday, but I did do it today, while my heart was pounding out of my chest...LOL.
My hubby says I have a hard time talking to her because I want to be her friend and not her boss, but that's not the truth at all. I simply don't want to work in a tense work environment. I LOVE what I do for work. I like it because I can take something that is a "mess" and make it look nice! Some of the stoves in these apartments have been NASTY! By the time I'm done with them, they are sparkling like new, and that makes me feel very good. But my personal history has proven that when my workplace environment becomes tense, I no longer enjoy the job.
So, my boss and I are going to sit down sometime this weekend and talk. My boss is great, he's a "straight to it" kind of guy and will tell you exactly what he thinks. I've never been someones "boss" before, so this is hard for me. But I think with a little bit of guidance from him I can do this.
Allright, I need to get off here, even though it's only 8:30, I'm completely exhausted, so I'm heading to bed. Thanks for listening!
